Dendrophiles, listen up! Summer vacays have begun and if you haven’t planned any getaways yet, here’s a camp you can enroll your children in. If your “little nature monsters” love to “explore magical things which happen between the months of May and June”, book a seat at this night camp at Sundarvan. Activities at the camp include: Feast with the fleet, communication in animals, movie night, insect watch, different outdoor games, yoga bingo, know your feathered friends, among others.

Weave your own dreams

Who doesn’t love those beautifully intricate dreamcatchers? These are “spiritual objects of the native Americans, who believe bad dreams pass through the web creating positive dreams, while the feathers symbolize the flow of life”. Dreamcatchers also provide a sense of mystic and charm to your home décor. So, what if you can learn to make your own? Here’s a workshop at 079|Stories that will teach you to make a traditional native dreamcatcher. The workshop will include: Brief history about dreamcatchers, wrapping the loop, learning to weave a dreamcatcher, assembling feathers and charms, assembling vegan laces with feathers. All materials will be provided at the session: Willow ring, wrapping materials, organic cotton threads, beads, charms, cruelty-free feathers, various decorative materials, evil eye charm.

Watch a Hindi play

Jaayaz Hatyaare, a 100-minute Hindi philosophical drama by Indie Productions is based on a group of “five revolutionaries who decide to bomb the governor of the East India Company and end up dealing with the philosophical dilemmas of the assassination”. Directed by Nigel Dsouza and Dev Shah, the drama is adapted from ‘The Just Assassins’ (original French title: Les Justes) a 1949 play by French writer and philosopher Albert Camus. The Hindi adaptation Jaayaz Hatyaare was done by Suresh Bhardwaj and Deepa Sahi.

Have fun with science

Aiming to popularize science among citizens, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Science City has organized a Summer Science Outreach Camp 2022. Day 1 of the Robotics Workshop started with an inaugural function where students were briefed and introduced to the subject experts of the session from the I-STEM collective foundation.

What to expect: Hands-on workshops on a myriad of topics including Robotics Champion Module, Plant Tissue Culture, Photography-Videography, Electronics Circuit Design, Science Journalism, Internet of Things (IoT), Technology on Home Automation, Waste to Best, Telescope -making, Demonstration on Chemistry, Life Cycle of Butterfly, Computer Game making (Code and Design games with Scratch), Learning of Mathematics, Explore the Botany, Fun with Physics, etc.

That’s not all, participants can enjoy celebration of important science days and events, including essay-writing, interactive sessions, quizzes, elocution competition, painting, demo lectures, besides activities like popular science series, science films on LED screen, and sky gazing for general public

Head to a group show

Code Decode – Where art intertwines with technology, a group show of artworks by 33 artists opened at the Hutheesing Visual Art Center on Thursday evening. Curated by Himanshu Joshi and Nimesh Patel, coordinated by Rohan Gandhi, and hosted by vis-à-vis in Ahmedabad, the exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Prof Jyotsana Bhatt. As with every group show, the exhibit is a mélange of thoughts and ideas from different minds coming together to somehow synchronize into one cohesive display. If you’re an art lover looking for something interesting and unique, we suggest you head here, where 33 minds have presented some of their best works.
